- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Previous travel experience required; outpatient clinic and acute care experience required. First-time travelers not accepted. 2. Cases: Outpatient clinic and acute care; primarily outpatient with monthly weekend coverage in acute setting. 3. Certifications: BLS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross (ARRT(R) also listed). Active license required at time of start. 4. License: Virginia Physical Therapy license required; does not need to be in hand at submittal — can apply immediately upon offer. 5. Education: DPT or Master's degree required. 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: 5x8s, Monday-Friday, 9:00a-5:30p; weekend coverage once per month (in acute setting); facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. 8. RTO: ALL requests must be submitted up front with the submittal. Travelers must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment; during winter holidays, 2 holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, NYE/New Year's). 9. Returning Staff: Previous employees (per diem and permanent) must be gone a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler. Effective July 1, 2025 — facility does not allow travelers to return after working 365 days on assignment, regardless of separation period. Travelers ending prior to July 1st are grandfathered under the previous one-year policy (six-month break, then eligible for another full year). 10. Travel/Local: Candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are considered local and are NOT accepted. Distance is calculated from address on Driver's License only. Exceptions apply only to Inpatient RNs and RRT (Neo/Peds) at specific Roanoke facilities — not applicable to this PT position. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Non-billable if completed within first 24 hours of NBO; 5 hours allotted for orientation modules and 2 hours for Epic (for inpatient RNs). May be completed pre-start or during orientation; hours vary by specialty. Recorded by facility report and paid upon receipt of approved hours. 13.
