- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year OT at Acute Hospital; 18 months experience required per facility notes (refer to job description for exceptions by unit) 2. Cases: CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's, amputation; required skills include Billing, High Acuity ICU and PCU, Acute Disorder, Assessment, Chronic Disorder, Functional Activities, Shoulder Replacement, Fracture Repair; daily patient load of 7 patients; productivity standard of 81% billable units 3. Certifications: BLS, NBCOT required; Manual Therapy noted; must see job description for full list of required certs by unit 4. License: IN state license required; must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license application has been submitted; SSN and DOB required at time of submittal 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting system required for IU Health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Monday through Friday plus one weekend day per month throughout contract; floating is 100% required of all travelers, within hospital or to an affiliate nearby; orientation is 40 hours 8. RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days may be auto-approved; anything more requires facility approval; candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee of IU must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler; consecutive contract policy requires a designated break after 12 months of travel employment within IU Health (effective 2/24/26); out-of-state residents require a 90-day break to reset eligibility prior to year mark; in-state residents require a 180-day break 10. Travel/Local: IN residents are considered local; local travelers accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, and IU Clinics positions at in-state lower bill rate; locals NOT accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions 11.
