Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – ER

Shift: Variables, start times at 7a,10a, 7p, 12×3, 36hrs per week

Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:
  • AK License
  • 2 Years Experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • ENPC
  • IV Skills for all ages are required
  • Telemetry experience is preferred
  • 2-3 years experience Preferred
  • Travel experience is preferred
  •  1 year of Epic experience is preferred

EMERGENCY RN

Start Date: ASAP (4 weeks from offer for compliance requirements).
Shift: 3×12 Variables (start times at 7am, 10am, and/or 7pm)
Ratios: 1:4
Years of Experience REQ: Prefer 2-3 years experience. Travel experience is preferred. Must demonstrate independent management of cardiac, critical care, complex care med/surg, psychiatric, and multiple trauma patients of all age groups. The ability to work in an intermittently fast-paced, high-volume, high-risk environment is required. IV Skills for all ages are required. Telemetry experience is preferred.
Epic REQ? 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
First-Timers Accepted: Yes
Weekend REQ: TBD
Certs REQ: AK RN, ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
Is on-call REQ? No
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? No, ED does not usually float to other areas of the hospital. 100% staffed RN department.
Open to accommodating block schedule? NO BLOCKED SCHEDULING ALLOWED. THEY ARE A UNION STATE AND CANNOT GUARANTEE. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT IF THEY ARE REQUESTING BLOCKED SCHEDULE.

FACILITY INFORMATION: PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center serves as a Regional Referral Center for SE Alaska. We serve Ketchikan and several surrounding Alaska islands that are isolated with limited healthcare services available. Patients present via fast boat and fixed wing aircraft from surrounding islands for emergent care. Ketchikan is the first port for Alaskan Cruises departing from Seattle. ER

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment. They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse. A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient/family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge. Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
