- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years total, with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience required; manager will not accept less than 1 year of past Med/Surg experience 2. Cases: Primary neuroscience unit caring for stroke patients, Neurosurgery, Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors, seizure disorders; 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) on unit 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred but not required; NIH required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; PYXIS and SBAR also used on unit 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours per week accepted; contracts 13-26 weeks; every other weekend required; floating required to any other MS/Tele areas including possible COVID care units; block scheduling not guaranteed; if traveler calls out, must make up shift same week or end of contract 8. RTO: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; if RTO includes weekends, time added to end of contract; call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation and DNR; one pre-approved RTO allowed 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted; rate difference applies 11. Background: Not specified 12.
