- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: Renal and limb preservation patients (lower extremity); ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, diabetic foot ulcers 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS required (noted with asterisk); must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis and SBAR also used; 24 hours of orientation including EMR education (2 shifts with preceptor) 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours available; every other weekend requirement; float required to similar units as needed 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; no additional RTO after signing; call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation and DNR 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile radius; locals accepted at lower rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start, non-billable; acute care approximately 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start and annually; conducted online via Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not provided; navy or white colors required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: EKG lead placement and ZOLL usage competency required; EKG tech handles EKGs on unit Critical: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours of signing; all testing must be completed within 48 hours. Interview required — manager will not offer without speaking to candidate first; provide interview availability for next 72 hours at submission. Current travel per diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts. Travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed. References can be pending at submission.
