- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: MS/Tele, PCU level patients, any adult medical/surgical diagnoses; float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed; preferred cases include CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury, Ortho Trauma, Total Joint Replacements 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis and SBAR also in use 7. Shifts/Call: Days, 36 or 48 hours; no call required; every other weekend required; must be available for Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; ratios 1:6-1:7 for MS/Tele, 1:3-1:4 for PCU patients; manager schedules 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; no additional RTO after signing; call offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancel and DNR 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (Perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at lower rate; 50-mile radius applies; current travel Per Diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts and must choose one; travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules are non-billable and must be completed before start and annually; Acute Care approximately 8-10 hours; conducted online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge; time spent on modules should be margined separately from orientation hours 13. Travel Experience: Listed as required in system; however, notes state traveler experience is NOT REQUIRED 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions only; COVID-19 vaccine not required 16. Special Equipment: Standard medical equipment including cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and other monitoring systems Critical: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing; all testing must be completed within 48 hours.
