- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required 2. Cases: Med/Surg with Oncology history; diagnoses include AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, DKA, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips; administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection) 3. Certifications: BLS required; Chemo (ONS/ONCC) required; Oncology certification (OCN) preferred; CPI preferred; must be able to administer chemo if needed; facility willing to train and help certify if needed 4. License: NC or Compact license; pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; call required if called off on a pre-scheduled shift; every other weekend required; float required to similar units and alternate care locations including inpatient holding in ED; Storm/Hurricane Team assignment required; makeup shifts required for call-outs; attendance at monthly staff meetings required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; cannot request additional RTO after signing; any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancel and DNR 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate; travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed; current travel Per Diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts 11.
