- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers not accepted; travel experience required 2. Cases: Float to Med Surg, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine, ED Boarding/Holding, and COVID; excludes W/I and L&D; some floors are primary nursing; IV Start and Telemetry required 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CPI, NIHSS, OCN noted with asterisk; all required by compliance hard document deadline, not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted; must pass Relias EKG exam; fit testing required — facial hair must allow for proper seal, no exceptions 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact — must match permanent residence, otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 or 4x12 (36 or 48 hours per week); confirm shift in submittal; every other weekend required; 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; no block scheduling; on-call not required; float shift to shift to all inpatient areas excluding W/I and L&D 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days; 7 or more days requires manager approval, including holiday RTO; no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of assignment; up to two pre-approved days noted 9. Returning Staff: 18-month tenure policy with a 3-month break in service required; permanent BJC or Saint Lukes employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler; contractors may not cancel a signed contract to accept another BJC assignment; if canceled at contractor's discretion, must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity 10. Travel/Local: No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius; no local travelers allowed except Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants 11. Modules: Billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr; completed pre-start via WorkRamp and uploaded to compliance report; required for RNs and LVNs; do not differ by specialty; must be started within 1 week of signed contract and completed 2 Fridays prior to start date to avoid delay 13.
