- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission (18 months minimum referenced; refer to job description for exceptions) 2. Cases: Labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antenatal patients, triage patients 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM required; must be in hand at time of submission; no pending certifications accepted 4. License: In-state license required; must be in hand prior to start date; no pending licenses accepted; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license application has been submitted; effective 11/30/24, IN RN travelers are not allowed at IU Health facilities (exceptions: Periop/OR RNs, Allied, Ambulatory RNs, ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS) 5. Education: Must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner required; no specific charting system required for IU Health positions per general policy 7. Shifts/Call: 8 and 10-hour shifts at 40 hours/week; 3x12-hour shifts at 36 hours/week; 4x12-hour shifts at 48 hours/week; call every 3rd weekend; float required within hospital or affiliate hospitals (MCH float); 2 Saturday/Sundays per 6 weeks (days); 2 Friday/Saturdays per 6 weeks (nights) 8. RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved; anything more requires facility approval; candidate MUST work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN IU employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler; consecutive IU travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated consecutive break effective 2/24/26; out-of-state residents require a 90-day break prior to year mark; in-state residents require a 180-day break prior to year mark 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals not accepted for this L&D position; locals accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, and IU Clinics positions at lower in-state rate; locals not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions 11. Two supervisor references required. First-time travelers accepted. COVID-19 vaccine not required.
