- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be from a large, urban hospital; Level I Trauma facility experience required and should be within the last year; LTAC/Rehab/Nursing home does not count as acute inpatient facility experience; less than 1 year gap between permanent and travel positions 2. Cases: MS/Tele required; drips required on all floors; must have experience with Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin (non-DKA) drips; may encounter Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Lasix; skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Peripheral Line Care/Management, cardiac telemetry, cardiac drip management (no titration), non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred; must be AHA or equivalent 4. License: Pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; must have Epic experience within the last 2 years; rated 3 or 4 on checklist; HARDSTOP if not met 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour weekly option; 13 or 26-week contract option; travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently, including potentially to Bellevue Medical Center (16 minutes away); float required every shift; patient ratios: 5 days, 6 nights; 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday and Saturday night); travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving: W/Th/F; Christmas: 24/25/26; New Years: 31/1/2); orientation: 24 hours 8. RTO: Up to two weeks permitted; must be submitted with application; additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion 9. Returning Staff: First-time travelers NOT accepted; HARDSTOP — no first-time travelers; will consider if traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted; candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Special Equipment: Required drips include Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin (non-DKA); screen and call out if no drip experience Critical: COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). Unit assignment determined by traveler experience upon confirmation; preferred unit should be called out at time of submission. HARDSTOP for no drip experience — must be screened and called out.
