- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be in a large, urban hospital. First-time travelers NOT accepted (exception considered if 2 years at a Level I Academic Medical Center). Trauma Level I experience preferred. 2. Cases: Pre and post liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal transplant patients; intestinal rehabilitation; living kidney and liver donors; Whipple procedures; internal med patients; trauma overflow. Drips required — must have experience with Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin (non-DKA). May encounter Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Lasix. Screen and call out if no drip experience. 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and CPI preferred. Must be AHA or American Red Cross (implied by standard compliance). 4. License: Nebraska RN State License required; pending license accepted, but if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: 36- or 48-hour weekly options available. 13- or 26-week contract options. Ratios: 1:5 days / 1:6 nights (nights may occasionally be 1:7). Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently, including potentially to Bellevue campus. Float notification given 1 hour prior to shift start by call or text. Weekend requirement: 4 shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday/Sunday; Nights: Friday night/Saturday night). Holiday requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays — submit with application. 100% nicotine-free facility. 8. RTO: Must be submitted with application. Up to two weeks of RTO permitted. No RTO during first week of orientation. Additional requests after confirmation are at manager discretion. Blackout dates due to College World Series: 6/11/26 - 6/22/26. 9. Returning Staff: Not specified. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted; candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility. 11. Background: Do not submit for Radiology or Respiratory with license hits. 12. Modules: Orientation is 24 hours. All contracts end on Sunday; work week is Monday-Sunday. Documents due Tuesday prior to start by 4 PM CST (Tier 2). 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers not accepted. 14. Scrubs: Mandatory — RNs must wear Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on obtaining branded scrubs provided upon confirmation. Gray T-shirts also available in the facility store. 15. Flu Vaccine: Not required. 16. Special Equipment: Overhead lift equipment available in every patient room. Paramedic rovers for provider support. Video monitoring. Patient attendants. Critical: Must go into labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer. COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). Pending Nebraska RN license accepted. Nicotine-free facility — 100% compliance required.
