- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass 2. Cases: Solid tumor oncology including Breast, Lung, Prostate, Pancreatic, Colon, Esophageal Cancer, and antineoplastic chemotherapy; oncology experience preferred but not required 3. Certifications: BLS required; ONS Chemo preferred; all certifications must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Valid compact or Ohio state RN license required in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: Day/Night or Nights available; first week of orientation is Mon-Fri dayshift; second week is 36 hours of on-unit orientation with preceptor; self-scheduling; float required to other MedSurg Oncology units; staffing ratio goal 1:4, can be 1:5; weekends variable based on unit needs 8. RTO: RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; one pre-approved time off noted; candidates with vacation time immediately after booking may face a push due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after being away from facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible to be hired as traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location; former manager name should be noted 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required urgently upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions; travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel 12. Modules: Orientation is 72 hours total 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions. Two professional references required - at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted. Skills required include accessing/managing ports, administration of chemotherapy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, starting and maintaining IVs, and tracheostomy care/management.
