- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Pulmonary, general medical, patients with longer length of stay, trach patients, COPD, Asthma 3. Certifications: BCLS and NIH required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required; also uses PYXIS, SBAR 7. Shifts/Call: 12 hour nights 18:45-07:15, no call requirement, floating required within service line 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays), must work 2 of 3 major holidays, no RTO during first week, all RTO must be pre-approved, cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying, disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed at submission 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate, will accept first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules factored into first 24 hours NBO; Acute Care approximately 8-10 hours, Non-Acute approximately 4-5 hours; must be completed pre-start and annually; conducted online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Not provided; Navy Blue and White any combination 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy equipment, no vents Critical: Patient ratios 5:1 (can run 6:1), 3 weekends required every 6 weeks, must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing, 24 hour orientation.
