- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers may be considered with strong CPU and PCU experience and ability to handle higher acuity 2. Cases: CHF, COPD, NSTEMI, AFib (new onset), Arrhythmias, Sepsis, Renal Failure/AKI; variety of complex, multiple diagnoses 3. Certifications: BLS, CPI, NIH required; ACLS preferred; BLS/ACLS/PALS must be AHA ONLY; CPI must be Calm Every Storm online version (only acceptable online vendor) 4. License: Active MD or Compact RN License required at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Not specified 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Nights (1900-0730); every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled; no on-call requirement; floating required within specialty as needed; travelers are first to float; schedule restrictions cannot be requested or guaranteed 8. RTO: Max 7 days can be requested; if more than 4 consecutive days, an additional week must be added to the back end of new contracts; one major holiday off during winter season may be allowed 9. Returning Staff: Former travelers must be away from the system at least 6 months after assignment completion; former staff must be gone 12 months before returning as a traveler; most locations allow one contract and one extension, then a 6-month break is required before returning to that facility/unit 10.
