- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years acute care experience required (high acuity unit) 2. Cases: Solid Organ Transplant (lung, liver, kidney, pancreas recipients and donors), Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology patient populations; diagnoses include ESRD, ESLD, thoracic cancers, lung diseases, organ rejection, alcohol use disorders, and general medical diagnoses 3. Certifications: AHA BLS required; CPI listed; copies required at submission 4. License: CO or Compact RN License required; BSN preferred 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; various days of the week; weekends required per unit needs; no on-call required; floating required within scope and may include sister facilities; no blocked scheduling requests 8. RTO: 10 RTO days max per 13-week contract; RTO not allowed during: June 28-July 9, 2026; September 2-12, 2026; October 25-November 4, 2026; November 22-December 2, 2026; December 20-January 3, 2027 (flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions) 9. Returning Staff: Candidates who applied to UCHealth internal Travel or Perm staff within the last two years will not be considered (DNU list); any resource who completed a full year on assignment must not be rebooked for at least one year 10. Travel/Local: Local bill rate is $85 if candidate lives less than 75 miles from facility 11. Background: Must disclose prior UCHealth employment (including UCHealth Medical Group, Medical Center of the Rockies, Memorial Hospital, Poudre Valley Hospital, University of Colorado Hospital, or affiliates); provide name used during that employment 12. Modules: Non-billable; average 4 hours; factored into 20 hours NBO; must be completed within first week of assignment; instructions provided during NEO; recorded by facility report or transcript 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required; first-timers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Chest and abdominal drains, chest tubes, wound vacs, mobility equipment, central lines, BiPAP/CPAP, telemetry, capnography Critical: Transplant patients are staffed at 2:1 or 3:1 ratios by specialty-trained transplant nurses; all other patients at 4:1-5:1. Candidates must be comfortable with flexible staffing ratios. Day shift preferred RNs must not be submitted to day/night rotating positions. 6 weekend shifts required per contract.
