- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required; 1 year of MS/Tele experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience specified; must be able to read strips 2. Cases: Primarily cardiac patients; cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology procedures; also med/surg and medical patients; acuity varies 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; must be through American Heart Association (AHA); copies must be included in submittal packet; PALS required if applicable to unit 4. License: WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission; Nursys pulled within 2 days of submission date 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 or 4x12 Nights, 7p-7a; weekdays with some weekends; weekend coverage required; block scheduling; weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon); 1:4 ratio, flex to 1:5 in emergencies; orientation 8 hours; orientation held every other Monday 8. RTO: Must be included at time of submittal; holiday RTO limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler; current Vandalia Health System employees (perm, PRN, etc.) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system, including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System 10. Travel/Local: Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate 11. Background: Previous probationary actions on a license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Non-billable; average completion time 8 hours; completed prior to start date; requirements vary by specialty 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white; not provided by hospital 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only 16.
