- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: Bariatric Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Other Post-Surgical Overflow, General Medicine; Surgical Step-Down (Progressive Care) unit at OSU 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; must pass telemetry test 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend coverage required; may float to other areas if not needed on home unit; 24 orientation hours; scheduling type listed as Other 8. RTO: RTO required with submission and must be built into contract; only one pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current OSU employees are ineligible as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required urgently upon signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk push/cancel 12. Pre-start Modules: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only; COVID-19 vaccine not required 16. Special Equipment: MS/Tele nurse-to-patient ratio 4-5:1 (target 4:1); Progressive Care ratio 3-4:1 (target 3:1) Critical: Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
