- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2+ years of CVICU/open heart experience required; will consider first-time travelers with extensive experience; minimum 1 year per system 2. Cases: Cardiac Surgery (CABG, valve, CABG/valve), CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB w/RVR, cardiogenic shock), Vascular (peripheral bypasses, EVAR), Thoracic (VATS) 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; AHA ONLY for BLS/ACLS/PALS; CPI Certificate required (Calm Every Storm online version only acceptable online vendor) 4. License: Active MD RN License or Compact License required at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Nights, 1930-0800, 36 hours/week; every other weekend required; holidays required as they fall; floating required to IMC (1:3 ratio), sister units, and lower acuity as needed; travelers are first to float 8. RTO: Max 7 days can be requested; if more than 4 consecutive days, an additional week must be added to the back end of new contracts; one major holiday off during winter season may be allowed; schedule restrictions cannot be requested or guaranteed; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: Return travelers must be away at least 6 months from the system after assignment completion; former staff must be gone 12 months before returning as a traveler; most locations allow one contract and one extension, then a 6-month break before returning to that facility/unit 10. Travel/Local: Locals under 50 miles not accepted unless job specifically states otherwise; permanent address must be 50+ miles from hospital address 11. Background: Not specified 12. Compliance documents due 5 days prior to start. Patient ratio is 2:1; 1:1 for first 12 hours post cardiac surgery. Daily census 6, unit has 8 beds. Charge experience preferred.
