- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required; Neuro experience requested — if limited, must be screened and called out in summary note 2. Cases: Neurological and medical intermediate patients; skills include Telemetry, Vents, IV Start, Drips; preferred: Triage, ICP, Conscious Sedation, Charge Nurse Experience 3. Certifications: Required — ACLS, BCLS/BLS, NIH/NIHSS; Preferred — CCRN, TNCC, CPI; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending is OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; Charting System Experience required; PYXIS and SBAR also listed 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights (18:45-07:15); 36 and 48-hour weeks available; floating required to other intermediate areas and critical care; 3 weekends every 6 weeks (minimum 6 weekend shifts); weekend ratio 1:3-4 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; cannot request additional RTO after signing; call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancel and DNR; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (permanent, PRN, or EP) must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile radius; locals accepted at lower rate; current travel per diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts — must choose one and disclose status and intent; travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed 11.
