- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission (with note that 18 months experience required per general policy) 2. Cases: General Med/Surg requiring PCU level of care 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: No on-call required; 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule; patient ratios 1:4 nights and weekends 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; one pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: Any PERM or PRN employee must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires breaks after 12 months employment 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals not accepted for PCU positions; eligible locals offered in-state rate at lower BR 11.
