- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year required (VMS job qualifications also note 2 years) 2. Cases: MRI and CT for outpatients; IV starts, POCT testing, contrast reactions, IV infiltration, patient falls, patient safety events 3. Certifications: BLS required; MRI Full Stop training required 4. License: VA or compact state license; must be in hand at time of submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Traveler shift availability must be addressed upfront; candidates will float within scope if needed 8. RTO: Must be included at time of submission; approved by unit manager on WOC; no guaranteed time off beyond that; no time off during first week of assignment 9. Returning Staff: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler 10. Travel/Local: No radius rules for applicants; locals accepted at same base rate 11. Background: Facility will review all background hits; ER and Psych candidates required to submit to fingerprinting per Virginia code 37.1-183.3 (15-20 business day turnaround; cannot start with results pending) 12. Modules: Completed during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange; non-billable; average 6 hours factored into NBO; must be completed by Friday of orientation week 13.
