- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required 2. Cases: Pediatric PACU, Phase I, Phase II recovery, Pre-Post experience required; ICU experience required; procedures include Ortho, GYN, Vascular, ENT, Endoscopy, Cysto, Colorectal, Pediatric Dental, Breast, Neuro/Spine 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms 4. License: DC license must be in hand at submission; MD locations require compact or MD license; pending licenses may be accepted with a later start date 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: 10- or 12-hour shifts; hours 0730-2330; alternating Days/Mids/Nights; call possibly 5-6 times per six-week period (Day/Evening); float to cover ICU required; 2 weekends per 6 weeks 8. RTO: No RTO permitted during first two weeks; RTO must be submitted at time of submittal and cannot be changed; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract 9. Returning Staff: Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time 10. Travel/Local: 60-mile radius; locals accepted at a lower rate; candidate address must match driver's license; copy of driver's license required at submittal 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Sitel modules assigned upon hire; must be completed within one week of signing or cancellation may result; average duration is 12 hours; billable up to 4 hours, additional time is non-billable; completed pre-start and potentially during orientation; recorded via transcripts 13.
