- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year required; first-timers accepted. General experience is unit specific; 18 months if not listed otherwise in job description. 2. Cases: Orthopedic, podiatry, gynecology, plastic surgery, general surgery, ENT; extensive list of specific procedures including robotic surgery, laparoscopic cases, total joint replacement, and more. 3. Certifications: BLS required; AHA and Red Cross only — RQI cards not accepted. Copies required per job/unit description. 4. License: Active IL license must be in hand at time of submission (exceptions noted in job description). 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred; position specific — confirm via job post details. 7. Shifts/Call: 5x8, 6:45-15:15, Monday-Friday, no weekends. On-call required 1-2 times per week. Patients scheduled out of surgery by 17:00 M-F. Block scheduling available. 8. RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days can be auto-approved. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST work 2 out of 3 major holidays. RTO and start date must be confirmed accurate at submission. 9. Returning Staff: Previous permanent or PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler. 10. Travel/Local: OR RN must be 50 miles or more from facility — locals NOT accepted for this specialty despite general local acceptance policy. 11. Background: Any background check hits must be noted upon submission so approval can be sought prior to offer. 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours; completed pre-start and renewed annually; non-clinical hours are fixed, clinical module hours may vary. First day is a virtual at-home day — candidates must check for additional modules. Strict deadline: completed by 4:00 PM CST on Day 1. Module logins assigned and sent prior to start. 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required. 14. Scrubs: Provided for this role. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — medical/religious exemptions only. 16. Special Equipment: Operating room equipment used for specialties listed (orthopedic, podiatry, gynecology, plastic surgery, general surgery, ENT). Critical: Traveler must be pre-closed at time of submission and confirm awareness of role requirements. SSN and DOB required at submittal. Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. Compliance (lab appointment, DocuSign, badge photo) must be completed within 1 week of signing the contract. Traveler must have reviewed and be able to secure housing prior to submission.
