- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required per skillset notes; 18 months required per general policy; 3 years listed in job requirements. All required case experience must be within the last 3 years. Charge experience preferred. 2. Cases: REQUIRED within last 3 years — General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), Liver resection, DaVinci XI, DV5 University. Scrub experience a plus. 3. Certifications: BCLS required. Must see job/unit description for full list of required certs. 4. License: IN/Compact license must be in hand or fingerprint application package submitted to be eligible. License must be in hand prior to start date. Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license application has been submitted. Note: Effective 11/30/24, IN RNs cannot work at IU Health facilities EXCEPT Periop/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RNs (includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS). 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation. 6. EMR: Epic required (Charting System Experience listed as Required). 7. Shifts/Call: Shift 7:00-19:30. Call required: 40-60 hours per 6-week schedule (can vary). Schedule is Monday-Friday with call and/or holidays. Floating is 100% required of all travelers — within hospital or to an affiliate nearby. Travelers are expected to work charge if asked and duties are within scope. 8. RTO: Auto-approve up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST work 2 out of 3 major holidays. 9. Returning Staff: Any PERM or PRN IU employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler. Consecutive Contract Policy: Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment anywhere within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (effective 2/24/26). Out-of-state residents require a 3-month/90-day break prior to their year mark. In-state residents require a 6-month/180-day break prior to their year mark. 10. Travel/Local: No locals accepted at IU Health University specifically. General IU Health policy: IN residents are considered local. Surgical Services, Allied positions, and IU Clinics accept local travelers at in-state/lower BR. MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions do not accept locals. 11. Background: Must be disclosed prior to submission so approval can be sought prior to offer. 12. Modules: Not specified. 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted. 14. Scrubs: Not specified. 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown. 16. Special Equipment: DaVinci XI University required. All special equipment experience must be within the last 3 years. Critical: SSN and DOB required at time of submittal. Two supervisor references required. IU Health is offering a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour for charge pay. If 1 position is available, up to 3 submissions are allowed at one time.
