- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 3 years required; NO first-time travelers; delivery attendance experience required (vaginal and C-section) 2. Cases: Level III NICU; neonatal care including admissions/discharges, deliveries, NOU, ventilator and central line management, exchange transfusions, nitric oxide administration, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, CRRT, UAC/UVC placement, chest tube assistance, PICC assistance 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; must be on hand at submission 4. License: Valid LA License or Compact License required at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted; any license hits must be disclosed with personal statement 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; GE-CPN used in NOU and Meditech used in NICU 7. Shifts/Call: Self-scheduling; every other weekend obligation (12 weekend shifts per contract); 2 major and 1 minor holiday required for full-time; 1 major and 1 minor holiday for PRN; patient ratios NICU 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and NOU 1:4-6; may float to NOU and third floor departments 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off allowed 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff must leave the health system for 1 year before eligible to travel 10. Travel/Local: Locals under 75 miles accepted at local rate regardless of specialty; travelers can only submit to 1 campus at a time; hardtop deadline is Wednesday prior to Monday start date 11. Background: Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission along with a personal statement 12. Modules: Non-billable; RN modules range 5-8 hours; Allied range 2-4 hours; completed pre-start, vary by specialty, recorded by facility education department 13. Travel Experience: Yes, travel experience required 14. Scrubs: Grape/Purple 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required, no exemptions 16. Special Equipment: Cardiac/respiratory monitors, pulse oximeters, ventilators, HFNC, CPAP, radiant heat warmers, isolettes, bili-meters, phototherapy, IV pumps Critical: COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). At least two recent manager references required. Candidate must have delivery attendance experience and advanced NICU skill set including IV placement in neonates, ventilator management, and blood administration.
