- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission; Level III NICU experience is a hard stop requirement; Level IV highly preferred 2. Cases: NICU III required, NICU IV highly preferred; patient diagnoses include extreme prematurity, cardiac anomalies, neurologic, endocrine, renal, gastrointestinal, skeletal, genetic anomalies, NEC, sepsis, PPHN, RDS, BPD, TTN, and more; must have strong experience with high frequency vents, conventional ventilators, iNO, trachs, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP, IV fluid management, hemodynamic support, post-op care, whole body cooling, admissions, IV placements, lab draws, wound/drain/line care, ostomy care, CVL dressing changes, titrating IV fluids, ABG interpretation, medication calculations 3. Certifications: BLS required; NRP must be in-hand at time of submission; Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit with it pending; costs $200); all must be in hand at submission 4. License: VA license can be pending at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; charting system experience marked as required 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; 36 or 48 hours accepted; 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period; every other holiday; float required to PICU, Peds, Postpartum, and L&D (baby catcher); float also required to catch and transition newborns in L&D, newborn care in MB/PP, infant care under 1 year in Peds and PICU 8.
