- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-timers not accepted; travel experience required 2. Cases: Resp Failure/ARDS, acute chest pain/cardiac/arrhythmias, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, sepsis; pre and post op cardiac, thoracic, abdominal surgeries; medicine and neuro-medicine overflow; pre- and post-transplant; end of life/organ donation. Multi-disciplinary ICU that sees fresh hearts — Travel RNs will not take fresh cases but will be scheduled in CTICU for coverage. Strong cardiac knowledge required. 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CPI and TNCC preferred (asterisked); must be obtained by compliance hard document deadline; copies not required at submission unless otherwise noted 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact — must match permanent residence, otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12); confirm shift in submittal; every other weekend required; no on-call required; float within service line to ICU units and down to MS as needed; ratio 1:2 (1.5 per VMS); orientation is 36 hours 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days; 7+ days requires manager approval, including holiday RTO; no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of assignment; up to two pre-approved days noted 9. Returning Staff: 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service required; permanent BJC/Saint Lukes employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler; BJC does not permit contractors to cancel a signed contract to accept another BJC assignment; if canceled at contractor's discretion, must complete another assignment before being considered for a new BJC opportunity 10. Travel/Local: No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius; no local travelers allowed (except PCTs, CNAs, and MAs); home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility 11. Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must match regular shift length). Contract length is firm.
