- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Trauma and Adult Emergency Department required; 1st time travelers accepted with caution based on ER nursing experience 2. Cases: Abdominal pain, Acute psychosis, Asthma, Blood Product Administration, Burns, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Chest tube insertion/management, Continuous IV paralytics, Continuous IV sedation, CVA, Drug overdose, Emergency Medications, Epiglottitis, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi, Head injury, Hyperglycemia, Intubation, IV vasopressors, Management of dysrhythmias, Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Pediatric Emergency Department, Procedural Sedation, Psychiatric Hold, Seizures, Sickle cell crisis, STEMI Certified Facility, Stroke Certified Facility, Triage, and others 3. Certifications: BSN, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required 4. License: CA RN License required; EMSA not accepted 5. Education: BSN required 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: Nights 19:00-07:30; various days of week; may include some mid/day shifts based on staffing needs; every other weekend required; no call required; no float required; ratios 1:4 8. RTO: Keep RTO under 7 days per assignment if possible; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: All former UCLA contractors/travelers/permanent employees must be cleared by Talent Management before submission; RNs require 12-month separation; candidates currently active with any University of California entity (career employee or contractor) are not eligible for submission 10.
