Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required in cardio thoracic surgeries; 1+ years required for submission within specialty; travel experience preferred 2. Cases: Cardio-thoracic surgeries; general and vascular cases; Carotid Endarterectomy, port-a-cath insertion; open heart surgery including valve, bypass, ablation, possibly ECMO, femoral cannulation, Impella, balloon pump insertion; 2-4 cases per day 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; travelers will be allowed to obtain certifications before starting 4. License: Valid NY State RN License required; must have at least applied if still pending; submit with recent Nursys 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Block scheduling; call required 7 days per schedule; weekends 3-4 shifts depending on shift; float to general OR when needed; patient ratio 1:1 8. RTO: Preferred 7 days or less 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff cannot return as a traveler within one year; after 3rd assignment, extensions allowed but at local rate 10. Travel/Local: 75-mile local radius; locals accepted at lower rate ($10 less) 11. Background: SSN/DOB required; Canadian and international travelers cannot be cleared without SSN or pending work authorization; international travelers cannot cross sooner than 10 days prior to start date 12. Modules: Modules are billable; Critical Care/ED — 6 hours; orientation minimum 3 hours with 6-hour max 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15.
