Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum with 1 year direct MedSurg experience required 2. Cases: Stroke patients primarily, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors 3. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred but not required 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour days, 1:6 ratios, every other weekend required, 36 or 48 hours accepted 8. RTO: Auto approve 7 days or less if not on holiday; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; additional RTO may extend contract 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval required 10. Travel/Local: Under 50 miles offered lower local rate; will not accept first-time travelers, must have at least 2 successful contracts 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care, non-billable, completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16.
