- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required; 18 months experience required per general policy 2. Cases: Mixed acuity unit - medical patients with some PCU level care; oncology and stroke unit; Will take MS/Tele or PCU RNs; Must have solid Neuro experience 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required 4. License: IN state, compact, or IN temp license in hand prior to start; Must be in hand prior to start date 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred; No specific charting required for any IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12; Float required as needed; Floating is 100% required - will float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby 8. RTO: Can auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO or less; Anything more requires facility approval; Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays; Pre-approved time off: one 9. Returning Staff: Any PERM or PRN employee of IU must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler; Consecutive contract policy applies with required breaks 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions; IN residents considered local; Eligible local travelers offered in-state rate at lower BR 11.
