Requirements

- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required 2. Cases: Acute stroke patients and neurological disorders; medical surgical patients; patient ratio 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg 3. Certifications: ACLS/BLS and NIH required; valid NIHSS must be included in submission 4. License: NY license required in hand to submit - NO EXCEPTIONS 5. Education: Alert account manager if traveler has foreign education requiring verification 6. EMR: EPIC experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Days; floating required; every other weekend 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days RTO 9. Returning Staff: 1 year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 75 miles of facility are not accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Pre-start modules billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours; excess over 5 hours non-billable; recorded via facility report 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Any combo of navy and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy equipment, respiratory equipment including nasal cannula and oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks Critical: 39-bed Acute Stroke Unit specializing in stroke and neurological care. Must handle interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, emergency response, peripheral line care, and isolation precautions.
