- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years RN experience required; 1 year in-specialty experience required (if RN hits 2 years by official start date, they can submit) 2. Cases: Pre and Post Cath patients, some overflow from ED; arterial/venous sheath pulls, TR bands management, new Pacemakers/Defibrillators, Watchman post procedure 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred; BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications must be via American Heart Association if required by unit 4. License: WV or Compact RN License required; pending license acceptable; NURSYS pulled within 2 days of submission date required 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner charting system; experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12hr NIGHTS 1930-0700; every other weekend required; block scheduling 8. RTO: Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays; one pre-approved time off; blocked schedule not guaranteed 9. Returning Staff: Permanent employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after last date worked permanent; current Vandalia Health System employees not eligible for travel contracts 10. Travel/Local: 100-mile radius rule (75-99 miles considered case-by-case with same rate); permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from facility 11. Background: Previous probationary actions on license considered case-by-case basis 12. Modules: 2-6 hours average, non-billable; completed prior to start; recorded on transcript with certificate of completion 13. Travel Experience: First timers OK depending on cardiac patient experience 14. Scrubs: Royal Blue/White for RNs 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical exemptions only (October 1st - March 31st flu season) 16. Special Equipment: Nitroglycerin, Angiomax, Heparin, Electrolytes, fluids, and antibiotics drips only Critical: Patient ratios 1:4-5; minimum 2 manager/charge references within past 2 years required; full file due noon Monday prior to start.
