- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years PICU experience required; must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with peds 2. Cases: Float pool floating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, peds medsurg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother baby 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS and PALS required; Dr Browns Infant Driven Feeding Cert required but can submit pending ($185 cost); copies required with submissions 4. License: VA license accepted pending but must have license in-hand Wednesday before start date; Nursys verification required for submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; 36 or 48 hours; block scheduling cannot be accommodated/guaranteed 8. RTO: Up to 40 hours guaranteed per 13-week contract; no additional RTO requests approved after acceptance 9. Returning Staff: Must inform Client Delivery Manager if previously employed at UVA Health system; external travelers cannot work more than 365 days regardless of time off; facility does not allow return after 365 days despite separation 10. Travel/Local: This unit not listed in 50-mile restriction units 11. Background: Must inform Client Delivery Manager if aware of background hits 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours; completed during orientation; vary by specialty; recorded in Workday 13. Travel Experience: Yes required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - no exemptions 16. Special Equipment: Must have minimum PICU experience and be comfortable with NICU, Acute pediatrics and Pediatric ED Critical: Must adhere to UVA's float policy. References required. Peds PACU experience highly preferred. Every other weekend, every other holiday. 60 orientation hours.
