- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required (18 months minimum with possible exceptions per unit) 2. Cases: Complex heart patients, VAD patients, heart transplant cases, neonate-adult congenital heart patients 3. Certifications: BLS, PALS required; license and certs must be in hand to submit 4. License: IN license required, must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent application submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: No specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, every other weekend required; floating 100% required to cardiac stepdown unit, PICU, within hospital or affiliate hospitals 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks after 12 months employment 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals NOT accepted for ICU positions; out-of-state residents require 3-month break, in-state require 6-month break to reset eligibility 11.
