- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required in a level 3 or 4 ICN/NICU 2. Cases: Premature infants (as low as 22 weeks), surgical infants, hypoxic injury 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP required 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights 18:45-07:15, 36 hours only, no call required 8. RTO: 7 days max for auto approval (no holidays), must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, no RTO during first week 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Under 50 miles offered lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; Acute Care 8-10 hours, Non-Acute 4-5 hours; completed pre-start via online learning/Zoom/webinar/in-person 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy blue or white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required (medical/religious exemptions only) 16. Special Equipment: Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, Giraffe Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Float to peds/PICU/nursery for infants up to 12 months. Patient ratios 1:2-4. Weekend requirement: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, 3 Sundays in 6-week period.
