- Unit Notes:OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates) - OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: - Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN - Clinician's middle initial - Requested time off - Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated - Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Department: Med Surg RN - # beds: 37 beds-combination of private and semi-private rooms - Certs: BLS- IL License - Ratios: Day shift 1:4-6 Night shift 1:5-6 - EMR: EPIC - Charge Nurse: Charge nurse's are usually available 24/7 depending on the schedule. They do take patient assignments if needed. - Nurse Aides: CNAs- 1:10-15 - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend for both day shift and night shift- weekend is Saturday and Sunday - Call Requirement: No call requirement - Holidays: Depending on schedule may require them to work holidays. It would be every other holiday if needed - Scrub Color: No specific scrub color- may also wear approved OSF logo gear with scrubs pants - Tele: We do take patients that require Tele- however it is mointored by our central monitor tech and events are called to the nurse. We do have visualization of the strips on the floor if needed. Lasix drip and Heparin drips are the most common on Med-Surg - Vents: No vents on our unit. We do get BiPAP, CPAP and high flow patients Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: We have multiple hospitalist in house on dayshift. APN coverage in-house coverage at night and eHospitalist available during night shift as well. - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Pharmacy is here during the day and an ePharmaist is avaiable. The nursing supervisor will assist with any medication needs as well. - Shifts: 12 hour shift. Day shift- 7a-7:30p Night shift- 7p-7:30a, self-scheduling is available but given the short contract terms, it will be the manager to put schedules in. We attempt to accomadate block scheduling if possibl but must still meet the every other weekend requirement. - Floating: May float to another floor if they have the competency to do so. When floating you will always take a full patient assignment (ICU RNs included) - Floor specific orientation: 2 days in the department and 1 day of hospital/EMR orientation - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, Pnemonia, surgical (hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resections, etc) Notes entered: 8.1.25 Cancellation Policy:12 hours per 13 weeks Charting System:EPIC BSN Required:False License to Submit:Yes Trauma Level:2 Care Setting:Acute Division:Nursing Shift Notes:12hr Nights Required Certifications:BLS (AHA)
