- Unit Notes:Department: Sonographer *Required Certifications: BLS & RDMS* *Preferred RDMS(OB/GYN), RDMS(AB), RVT* *ND State License* NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT - How many scanners/rooms does this department have? currently one echo room and one general ultrasound. will have two general ultrasound rooms and echo room in near future. Echo dedicated sonographer does all echo exams. - Will they have to float/cover any other areas? May need to do US in the OR if there is a case that requires. This has only happened one or two times for abruption. Will not float to any other department. May be asked to help with transferring patients in other modalities when extra hands are needed if sonographer is not doing an exam. - Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties: OB ltd, OB 2nd and 3tri, OB follow up, OB transvag, 1 fetus or more for all OB studies, Gyn, pelvis non ob, Abdomen, Abdomen limited, breast, breast limited, soft tissue, thyroid, scrotum and contents/duplex, venous doppler, carotid, retroperitoneal comp, thora, para, us guided breast bx, FNA, venous doppler extremity, Fetal BPP without NST. Cleaning room, machine, stocking room, checking for outdates, ensuring safe environment - Must have experience/skills: Must be comfortable with non-echo, vascular studies. 2yrs Experience. Provide compassionate care, attention to detail, quality imaging, ability to use computer technology. - Previous Travel Experience required?: no - Average # of scans/studies per day: 6-8, with option to add-on extras - EMR and/or PACS do they use?: McKesson, CRTIS, Meditech - Department Specific Equipment: Philips Epiq 5, Epiq Elite, and a Mindray that is back up. - Is there a Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech on each shift?: no, nursing supervisor always available in house - Do they use RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants)?: no - Radiologist in-house?: telerads available 24 hours - Do they have to start IVs?: no - Shifts & Scheduling: M-F 0730-1600 with occasional call - Do you allow self-scheduling or blocked scheduling?: with this position, if the sonographer needs a long weekend, they may work 4x10hr shifts to get hours in as long as the two other travelers are in town and have coordinated coverage. - Weekend Requirements: Occasional weekend call - would be on call when other two travelers are both gone at the same time. - Holiday Requirements: Outpatient scheduling is closed during holidays that fall during the weekdays. Traveler may determine if they want to come in and work that day and cover ER/OB ultrasounds or take the day off. - Call or Standby requirement? : Call only needed when the other two travelers are out of town at the same time. - Call Response time?: 20 minutes - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided?: Gray scrubs, not provided. - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week, longer if needed. - Additional Notes: This position will have limited on-call and will be filling the needs for outpatient schedule and add-on ultrasounds from the clinic M-F. Most exams are currently scheduled for an hour and we have designated slots for add-on exams. Late traveler comes in the afternoon to assist with outpatient schedule and add-on exams and ensure sonographer can get a lunch. We can be flexible with adjusting the patient schedule, but need to make sure we stay within productivity Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past 12 months RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
