- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required; 2 years of experience listed 2. Cases: Will work both PICU and NICU; high risk delivery attendance, external transports with competency assessment, pediatric ED (Level 1 trauma center) 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT required; VA license required 4. License: VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Candidates will float within scope if needed 8. RTO: Should be included at time of submission; will be approved by unit manager on WOC; no other guaranteed time off; no time off granted during first week of assignment; two pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same base rate; no radius rules for applicants 11. Background: Facility will review all background hits 12. Modules: All candidates assigned modules during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange; non-billable, average 6 hours factored in NBO; completed during orientation, must be finished by Friday of orientation week 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first time travelers 14. Scrubs: VCU has a natural nail policy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Ventilators required (Servo I required, Puritan Bennett preferred); various respiratory equipment including BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, High frequency jet ventilator, High frequency oscillator Critical: 2 references required. Contract length 13 weeks. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics. ER and Psych candidates require fingerprinting with 15-20 business day turnaround; cannot start with results pending.
