- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required per position header; 4 years listed in job requirements section. Travel experience required. 2. Cases: NICU, ED, Adult ICU, and Stepdown units. Adult critical care, ER, and community hospital experience required. Level II Trauma experience required. Trauma Level I preferred. NICU, ED, and adult ICU preferred but not required in all areas. 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required (90-day window from start date to obtain); CRTT/CRT required; VA state license required; NRP preferred; RRT preferred. All certs may be started pending within 90-day window. 4. License: VA License required, or proof of application submitted with another state license (cannot be national) at time of submittal. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic required. 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift, 4x12s (19:00-07:30). On-call required — 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period (potential for mandatory on-call). Every other weekend required. Every other holiday required. Traveler will be expected to serve as Team Lead at times. Float required within scope to meet facility needs. Block scheduling not accommodated. Attendance at monthly department meetings required; if not working, must read meeting minutes and send acknowledgment to managers. 8. Required respiratory skills include airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers.
