- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required per VMS; Level 4 NICU experience required; Cardiac PICU experience preferred 2. Cases: NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, acute care pediatrics; competency in caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients; complex congenital heart program including transplants and ECMO 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, RRT required; PALS preferred; ACCS preferred; copies of required certifications must be included at submission 4. License: VA State License required; can submit with VA license pending provided candidate can obtain temp before start and holds another active state license; RRT travelers must have license in-hand at time of submission; all others must have license in-hand by Wednesday before start date; Nursys verification required at submission 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic experience required unless otherwise noted in unit or job description 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; 36 or 48 hours available; every other weekend; every other holiday; self-scheduling model (manager will explain; desired schedule not guaranteed) 8. RTO: Up to 40 hours guaranteed per 13-week contract; no additional RTO approved after acceptance; all RTO must be confirmed accurate at submission; any vacation plans between sign date and start date must be communicated to Client Delivery Manager at time of submission 9. Returning Staff: Must inform Client Delivery Manager if previously employed at any UVA Health system facility as permanent staff, internal traveler, or external traveler; perm staff and internal travelers must be separated for one year and approved by UVA leadership; external travelers may not work more than 365 days total regardless of separation period 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile travel restriction applies to select units; this unit (Children's Hospital/Respiratory) is not listed among restricted locals-not-accepted units, so local policy should be confirmed 11. Background: Must inform Client Delivery Manager of any known background hits prior to submission 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours; time exceeding 16 hours is billable; completed during orientation; vary by specialty; recorded in Workday 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required, no exemptions 16. Special Equipment: Must be competent in use of Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A Critical: References required.
