- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required; must support at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years 2. Cases: Acute care preferred; patient diagnoses include orthopedics, transplant, med surg, neuro, and ICU; skills required include Cardiopulmonary, Geriatrics, Neurology, Oncology, and Orthopedics 3. Certifications: BLS required; LD RNs must have C-EFM NCC certification at time of submittal; all certifications must be in hand at submission 4. License: State license required in hand at time of submission; DC locations must have DC license in hand; MD locations must have compact or MD license; copy of driver's license required at submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 40 hours, days; alternating 8-hour shifts 07:00-15:30 or 10:30-19:00; block scheduling; no call required; no weekend shifts per contract; patient ratio days is 20 8. RTO: No RTO permitted during first two weeks of assignment; RTO must be included at time of submittal and cannot be changed once profile is sent to manager; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time 10. Travel/Local: 60-mile local radius; candidate's address must match driver's license; local candidates accepted at a lower rate; contact AM or EC for local rate information 11. Pre-start Modules: Assigned facility- and unit-specific Sitel modules must be completed within one week of signing the contract; failure to complete may result in cancellation; billable up to 4 hours, average duration is 12 hours; any time beyond 4 hours is non-billable and must be margined; completed pre-start and potentially during orientation; recorded via transcripts 13.
