Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Telemetry AND PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required; Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal experience required 3. Certifications: ACLS required; BLS required; NIH preferred; Must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights, 36 hours only; 1:6-7 ratios; floating required as needed with potential to float every shift 8. RTO: 7 days maximum auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed at submission 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate; unit will accept first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules factored into first 24 hours of NBO; Acute Care approximately 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy scrubs required, not provided by hospital 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Cardiac monitoring equipment, Pyxis, TR Bands, Femstop Critical: Must be available for lab work within 48 hours of signing. Contract staff will be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Teams. Weekend requirement of 5-6 shifts over 6-week period. 24-hour orientation required.
