- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required; must have similar experience with ratios/acuity on a challenging and busy unit 2. Cases: Primary cardiac and stroke unit; pre/post pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, TR bands, post interventional peripheral vascular procedures, unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA/TIA; runs multiple drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone; COVID-positive patients on opti-flow and BiPAP 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), and NIHSS required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic (Dimensions) preferred; Pyxis and SBAR also used 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights, 18:45-07:15; call required (frequency depends on census); float required; every other weekend plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 6-week period required; no block scheduling 8. RTO: 7-day max for AYA auto offer; RTO after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancel and DNR 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Special Equipment: Telemetry and pulse ox; high-flow O2 (stable only with pulse ox ordered); non-rebreather mask (palliative only); BiPAP (chronic use only — no new BiPAP); Blanketrol; NO continuous KCl with concentration greater than 60 mEq/Liter; NO unstable O2 with BiPAP or non-rebreather; NO respiratory rate greater than 35; NO O2 sat below 85% Critical: Patient ratios are 1:5-6; travelers must be comfortable taking 6 patients. All listed skills are hard stop requirements. Unit turns over 78-90 patients per week. PCU experience preferred but not required; cardiac telemetry experience is mandatory.
