- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required for submission 2. Cases: Cardiac disease, stroke, infection, pain, PE; MS/Tele required; phlebotomy and IV placement are mandatory competencies for all RNs 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; AHA requirement not specified 4. License: NY RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission; pending license not accepted 5. Education: Foreign education must be flagged to the account manager at time of submittal for verification 6. EMR: Epic is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: Every other weekend required; day/eve ratios 5:1 (stretch 6-7); night ratios 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in); block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed; float required to MS, ED, ICU (stable patients), and acute brain injury (stable patients) 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days of RTO; keep RTO close to 1 week 9. Returning Staff: 1-year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: No locals; 75-mile radius rule; candidates within 75 miles of facility are not accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on a case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Billable up to 5 hours; total module time may reach 10 hours; any time exceeding 5 hours is non-billable; completed pre-start; vary by specialty; recorded via facility report 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy blue/white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, lifepacks
