Requirements

- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required for submission 2. Cases: Cardiac and stroke patients 3. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; phlebotomy and IV placement mandatory competency 4. License: NY license required in hand to submit 5. Education: Alert account manager if traveler has foreign education requiring verification 6. EMR: Epic experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: Every other weekend required; no on-call; float required to MS, ICU, ED 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days RTO; no holiday RTO 9. Returning Staff: 1 year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 75 miles not accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours; excess over 5 hours non-billable; completed pre-start 13. Travel Experience: First-timers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy and white combinations 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Hoyer lifts Critical: Patient ratios 5:1 day/evening (stretch 6-7), 6-7:1 nights (stretch 8-10). Special skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response teams, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions. 4 hours orientation with 20-bed unit serving adults and geriatrics.
