- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be in a large, urban hospital. First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. Trauma Level I experience preferred. 2. Cases: Trauma patients (hemodynamically and medically stable); acute and chronic needs. Patients admitted from emergency department, transferred from ICU, or from surgical/procedural services. Diagnoses include ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, total joint replacement, renal failure, skin grafts. 3. Certifications: BLS required; CPI required. Must be AHA or American Red Cross (not explicitly stated but BLS is listed). 4. License: Pending license accepted; however, if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour weekly option; 13 or 26-week contract option. Ratios are 1:5 days, 1:6 nights (1:7 nights rare but possible). Travelers are first to float; must be prepared to float frequently within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially to Bellevue campus. Float notification occurs 1 hour prior to shift start by call or text. 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday/Sunday; Nights: Friday night/Saturday night). Holiday requirement: travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving: W/Th/F; Christmas: 24/25/26; New Years: 31/1/2). Orientation: 24 hours. 8. RTO: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted. RTO must be submitted with application. Additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion. 9. Returning Staff: Not specified. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted. Special Equipment/Drips: Required drip experience: Nitro, Heparin, Insulin (non-DKA). May encounter: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Lasix. Candidates will be screened and called out if no drip experience. Additional skills required include central line care, chest tubes, PICC line management, telemetry/remote monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, PCA, HFNC, peripheral nerve block catheters, titration of vasoactive and insulin drips, and more. Critical: Facility is 100% nicotine free. COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). Drip experience is required on all floors. Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently.
