- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of experience required; must be within the last 3 years. At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass. Oncology experience preferred but NOT required; MS/Tele experience accepted. PCU experience not required. 2. Cases: Variety of diagnoses including solid tumors and blood cancers. High acuity patient population. Chemotherapy competence not required. Pediatric experience not required. 3. Certifications: BLS (BCLS) required; ACLS listed. All certifications must be AHA or American Red Cross (implied by standard compliance). 4. License: Valid compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission. 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program. 6. EMR: Epic experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: Self-schedule; Day/Night rotating or nights available. First week of orientation is Mon-Fri days; second week is 36 hours of on-unit orientation with preceptor. Float required to other MS/Tele units of equivalent or lower acuity. Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs. 8. RTO: One pre-approved RTO allowed; must be submitted with submission and built into contract. Candidates with vacation time immediately after booking may face a push due to fingerprinting delays. 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility. Current employees are ineligible for traveler assignments at any Ohio State University hospital location. Former manager name should be noted per return staff policy. 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate. Please submit to one location only; AM team will determine best fit. 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required urgently upon contract signing. Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking. Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently. Strict compliance deadline is the Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push or cancel. 12. Modules: Orientation is 72 hours. First week Mon-Fri days; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor. 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel experience preferred but not explicitly required. 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — medical exemptions only. 16. Special Equipment: B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Continuous Bladder Irrigation, PCA pumps. Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing — this is urgent with no exceptions to the Tuesday prior to start compliance deadline. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership. Charge RN acceptable for second reference. No coworker references accepted. RTO must be submitted at time of submission and built into contract. Must screen all candidates for missing requirements before submission.
