Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required; must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass 2. Cases: Oncology experience preferred but not required; common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, sickle cell crises, and antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters 3. Certifications: BCLS required 4. License: Valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 12HR Day/Night rotating; if accepting a D/N rotating contract, candidate may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on department needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; float required to other MedSurg Oncology units of equivalent or lower acuity; self-scheduling 8. RTO: RTO required with submission and must be built into contract; pre-approved time off: one 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required; must be completed as soon as contract is signed; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions; travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel; screen for candidate vacation time immediately after booking due to fingerprinting delays 12. Special Equipment: B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing. Two professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted.
