- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. 2. Cases: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, Sheath management/removal. Special procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Cardiac/Thoracic/Vascular surgeries, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology, Pacemaker placements. 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required. Must be completed and in hand. Must pass EKG Testing prior to start. 4. License: NC or Compact license; pending OK for submittal. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift 1845-0715, 36 hours only. Float follows unit rotation; not first to float. 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (flexible). Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster (Storm/Hurricane Team). 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO during first week. All RTO must be pre-approved. Cannot request additional RTO after signing. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancel and DNR. 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (Perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying. Disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed. Current travel Per Diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts — must choose one; include status and intent in submission. 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate. Travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Pre-start modules are non-billable and must be margined separately from orientation hours. Acute Care: approximately 8-10 hours. Must be completed pre-start and annually. Conducted online via Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. 13. Travel Experience: Required unless traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. 14. Scrubs: Navy. 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. 16. Special Equipment: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral Sheaths, TR Band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires, Cardiac Drips. Critical: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing; all testing must be completed within 48 hours.
